Why You Need an Anma Massage

There are many different types of massage; some forms help to relieve pain and others are more relaxation spa-oriented. Essentially, all forms of massage stem from the oldest practice known as Anma massage which it’s estimated to be in practice for five thousand years, but there is no written proof dating back past three thousand years.
Anma is my preferred method and find it helps the majority of clients get relief from chronic pain, injuries, surgery and fatigue.

What Does It Do?

Anma massage stimulates specific points in the body to promote self-healing. When key muscles are targeted with one of nine Anma techniques help relieve:
·         High Blood Pressure
·         Constipation
·         Chronic Pain
·         Fatigue
·         Insomnia
·         Constipation

In the Beginning

The original intent for Anma was to stimulate the body to help warm the body in cold weather. The Chinese soon discovered their muscles no longer ached after a massage and soon evolved into a way to heal and help people stay healthy. It is the base of Eastern medical training and part of martial art techniques.

Without Anma massage, there would be no Shiatsu, Swedish or therapeutic massages.

Additional Benefits

Anma is not a traditional spa style massage. Some of my patients suffer chronic pain and are sensitive to touch. Anma is often performed with your clothes on and no oils. I do offer Anma with essential oils if that is someone’s preference, but it’s not necessary.
